Your Addiction Doesn’t Have to Define You

Marijuana addiction treatment

America is moving in the direction of marijuana legalization. Colorado and Washington are some of the first to legalize its use, though this will probably have a limited effect in the short term. But, if nothing else, it means that cannabis addiction treatment is probably going to become more important in the years ahead.

In 2009, around 30 million people older than 12 years old used marijuana. But marijuana is not without its negative effects. People suffering from marijuana addiction are three times more likely to suffer some kind of psychological problem. Some people think that they know how to quit smoking pot. They think that smoking pot is something that can be abandoned at a moment’s notice.

Nothing could be further from the truth. 95.5 percent of marijuana addicts suffer from one symptom of withdrawal or another. This means that recovery can be much more difficult than many people realize that it is.

Some of the symptoms from which people who were addicted to marijuana can suffer include sleep disruption. Around 46.1 percent of marijuana smokers suffer from some sort of insomnia. Insomnia is not the only problem. Nightmares are often a common symptom of sleep disruption problems.

One reason that marijuana is so common is because it can grow in pretty much any echo system. Law enforcement can only do so much. This means that you, primarily, are responsible for making sure that you can reduce your cannabis use on your own. Only you can ensure that you are capable of limiting the use of cannabis, whether it is in your neighborhood or whether it is you yourself who chooses not to pick up the joint. How to quit smoking pot? Don’t use it to begin with.

  1. I voted for Ron Paul because we should be able to make the choices ourselves whether or not smoking marijuana is a good idea. I think that it is a great idea and I am a stock broker.

  2. Remind me never to let you break my stocks. The last person I would want to handle my investment portfolio is a drug addict. That is one of the worst things that people can do.
